~ Nunu Meets, Ashley scott (@scottmedusa) Founder of @pledge.allegiance, Freelance Artist, and part-time Chef. Nunu: What was your moment of manifestation? Ash: Throughout my life I’ve always had an idea of what I wanted to do, the only problem was that I wanted to do so much! Whilst at college and uni I realised I had many different talents and the options of a career were endless. However, in the past 2/3 years I decided to focus on two main areas that I felt most passionate about - my creative design company “pledge allegiance” and my hand-painted leather jackets. Both are going in the right direction but Pledge had a little more variety as it branched into clothing which was something I’ve always wanted to do. Initially, the first T-shirt was only created for 1 purpose, to promote and create awareness for the design company but over time people kept asking what it was and where they could buy one, so ideas of clothing came about and I started the T-shirt line “pledge” mainly focusing heavily on graphics as I had a strong background in graphic design. Nunu: Can you describe a time you felt most happy or proud of yourself? Ash: The first official release for the signature Pledge tops and realising that people actually wanted to buy something that I had designed and manufactured. I knew that the brand was something special the moment I designed the logo but to create a product that people liked and wanted to have was mad & made me feel incredibly proud. Nunu: Who or what inspires you? Ash: I find a lot of inspiration from the human race to be honest. People that have changed the world such as, Steve jobs, @elonrmuskk, George Lucas, Walt Disney, @pharrell, @virgilabloh , Kanye West, Takashi Murakami and Kaws. ~ You can check out Ashley’s full collection of Pledge garments over on the @pledge.allegiace website, or commission him to paint on your favourite handbag or leather jacket - they are insane. ✨
